Junior to medior Project Manager
Position
At NRG PALLAS, we develop nuclear technology to drive the energy transition. We use our nuclear infrastructure to study the performance of materials and fuels for application in existing and future reactor systems.
As a Project Manager at NRG PALLAS, you play a key role in the realization of complex and high-impact irradiation projects within the Materials Irradiation Team (MIT), part of NES - FMI (Nuclear Energy Solutions - Fuels and Materials Irradiations).
You are responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering irradiation projects for our international customers, within the agreed scope, time and budget, and always with a strong focus on nuclear safety and quality.\ From initiating and defining the assignment, translating customer needs into clear project plans and milestones, to managing execution and final delivery: you keep a firm grip on the entire project lifecycle.
You coordinate the technical content together with specialists and engineers, safeguard the interfaces between experiments, reactor planning and laboratories, and ensure that all stakeholders are well informed.\ You monitor project progress, risks and financials, report clearly to management and customers and proactively steer on adjustments where necessary.
In addition, you contribute to the further professionalization of project management within FMI, for example by improving processes, templates and reporting, and by sharing best practices with colleagues in other project teams.
Profile
• You have at least a completed technical vocational or higher vocational education, for example in (applied) physics, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, nuclear technology or a comparable direction;
• You have demonstrable experience as a project manager or project leader in a technically complex environment, preferably in R&D, high-tech, energy, process industry or nuclear/medical technology;
• You are familiar with working in a project-based way and with project management methods (for example PRINCE2, IPMA, Agile), or you are prepared to obtain these certifications;
• You can translate complex technical issues into clear project objectives, planning and deliverables;
• You have strong organizational skills and are able to keep an overview of several parallel running projects;
• You communicate clearly and effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders, in English (and preferably also in Dutch);
• You are analytically strong, result-oriented and you dare to ask critical questions in order to safeguard time, money, quality and safety;
• You enjoy working together in multidisciplinary teams, but you can also operate independently and take ownership;
• You are stress-resistant, flexible and know how to keep your head cool in a dynamic environment with changing priorities;
Team
You will be working within our department Fuels & Materials Irradiations (FMI). This department is responsible for the execution of materials and fuels R&D activities on commercial and subsidised basis. The team is responsible for the preparation, execution and follow-up of irradiation projects in and around our nuclear facilities, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and innovation. Within MIT you work closely together with project managers, scientists, experiment designers, engineers and technicians who collectively realize irradiation experiments for materials research, fuel development and other nuclear applications. The culture within NRG PALLAS and MIT is professional, collegial and informal, with short communication lines and a strong drive to continuously improve. You get a lot of responsibility and autonomy, but you are certainly not on your own: you can build on the knowledge and experience of highly specialized colleagues and on the solid project and safety culture within NRG PALLAS.
