At NRG PALLAS, the future is a team effort

For many years, NRG and PALLAS were two separate organisations with the same objective: to use nuclear technology for healthcare and energy. NRG managed the High Flux Reactor (HFR), while PALLAS took the first steps in constructing the PALLAS-reactor. By joining forces, we are combining the nuclear knowledge we have acquired over the last sixty years with each other’s infrastructure. Together, we are focusing on improving the future for generations to come.

All expertise in one organisation

The merger brings all our expertise together in a single organisation. Researchers, reactor operators, engineers, and specialists in the field of licensing and radiation protection no longer work alongside each other but with each other. By connecting disciplines, we create solutions that are both technically sound and feasible. This accelerates innovations that contribute to better healthcare and sustainable energy.

Gaining and maintaining knowledge in the nuclear sector

At NRG PALLAS, we are not just building reactors and production processes, we are also developing the knowledge and frameworks that move the industry ahead. We train new generations, collaborate with international partners, and contribute to the continuity of nuclear knowledge in the Netherlands. Much of the specialist expertise in this sector has disappeared in recent decades. That is precisely why it is important that we continue to actively transfer this knowledge to the new generation within the nuclear sector.

Energy & Health Campus: the heart of the Dutch nuclear sector

Our main location is on the Energy & Health Campus in Petten: an area where nuclear applications for healthcare and energy have been developed for more than sixty years. Here, we combine infrastructure, licences, and knowledge in a way that is unique in the Netherlands. This setting enables us to quickly translate research into practice. For our employees, this means working in an environment where nuclear innovation is the norm.
