Production & Maintenance
The field that keeps our installations operational
In Production & Maintenance, we work daily to operate and maintain the reactor and all associated installations. This is the heart of our organisation. It is where systems are activated, experiments are made possible, and technical problems are solved immediately. This team’s work keeps the reactor running, an important motor within NRG PALLAS.

Always connected
Our Production & Maintenance staff work closely together every day to keep NRG PALLAS running smoothly. One person identifies issues, another carries out the necessary actions. While Production identifies deviations and monitors processes, Maintenance ensures that installations continue to function as they should. They perform different tasks within a single field, thereby complementing each other’s work.
Production: keeping the installation under control
In Production, everything revolves around ensuring that the reactor functions safely and steadily. As a reactor operator, for example, you monitor the processes and intervene if there are deviations in temperature, pressure, or radiation levels. As an experiment operator, you supervise specific irradiation assignments and check that everything is going according to plan. Shift supervisors divide the tasks within the team and manage the shift. Colleagues in logistics package irradiated material and ensure that it is transported in a safe and controlled way.

Technical maintenance for installations in excellent condition
Maintenance is all about keeping the reactor and associated systems in good technical condition. As a technician, you inspect components such as pumps, pipes, and measuring instruments. If you spot a problem, you immediately initiate the necessary action. You will repair malfunctions and implement improvements. As a team leader, you will manage the team. You will ensure that maintenance tasks are properly scheduled and carried out. Thanks to your work, the reactor can continue to do what it is supposed to do: produce medical isotopes and contribute to the energy transition.
The impact of your work in Production & Maintenance
Everything we do starts with a reactor that is running smoothly. This is only possible due to the dedication of our colleagues in Production & Maintenance. They enable us to do what we do best: save lives with medical isotopes and contribute to a cleaner energy supply.

Growing in production or maintenance
Standing still is not an option at NRG PALLAS. Our mission demands innovation. That is why new colleagues always follow an extensive onboarding programme, including a personalised learning programme and guidance in the workplace. During this phase, you will learn everything about our systems, processes, and nuclear technology. After that, the path is open: whether towards team leadership, work preparation, planning, or technical specialisation.
Are you our new expert in production or technical maintenance?
- A clear induction programme with a learning task book
- Internal training courses for operator and technician roles
- Specialised training courses in measurement and control technology
- Development opportunities towards roles such as shift supervisor, work planner or coordinator
- Freedom to suggest improvements and take initiative
