Position
You hold a key position in which you will act as both an _Intelligent Customer_ and a _Subject Matter Expert_, contributing to the development and delivery of the Operational Readiness Project (ORP) and therefore the establishment of a fully qualified, competent, licensed, and operationally enabled First Operating Team. You will report directly to the Manager Operations.
Your responsibilities vary from reviewing engineering design, developing reactor operations process and procedure, to leading initiatives in digital Information Management and supporting training program development using immersive technologies (e.g., VR, 3D modelling, serious gaming).
You will also represent Reactor Operations in engineering and safety reviews, and contribute to commissioning and transition-to-operations activities.
If desired, your role may evolve into a shift management function (e.g., Reactor Shift Supervisor or Senior Reactor Operator) following commissioning and early commercial operations.

Profile
You are a seasoned professional with experience in nuclear operations; experience in nuclear engineering or technical positions in other high-reliability industrial environments is also beneficial. Key competencies include strong interpersonal and leadership skills that support collaboration in our cross-disciplinary way of working. The most important other criteria:
- A bachelor’s degree
- 10 years of relevant experience
- High written and spoken proficiency in the English language;
- Preferably living in the Alkmaar region or willing to relocate;
_This position requires a security screening (VGB B) by the AIVD;_
_A Profilizer personality test is part of the procedure;_
Team
Operations is responsible for setting up the organisation that will operate the PALLAS reactor, and for establishing the necessary processes and procedures. It is committed to delivering excellence during the development and commissioning of the PALLAS-reactor.
This growing team operates in a matrix environment and works closely with parallel departments including Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Nuclear Safety, Radiation Protection and the HFR Operations team in Petten.
