Position
As part of our team you will mostly take care of:
- Develop and implement activities in the field of ageing management of nuclear power plant structures, systems and components (SSCs);
- Contribute to the development, update and implementation of Ageing Management Reviews (AMRs) and Ageing Management Programmes (AMPs) in the context of Long-Term Operation (LTO);
- Support the identification of ageing effects (AEs), degradation mechanisms (DMs) and the corresponding ageing management measures based on materials, environments, operating conditions and operational experience;
- Contribute to national and international projects related to plant life management, ageing management and LTO;
Interact with plant departments (maintenance, inspection, chemistry, system engineering) to collect technical inputs required for AMR and AMP activities;
- Support the identification of gaps, open actions and improvement proposals to strengthen the plant ageing management framework;
- Assist in ensuring alignment of ageing management activities with international standards and plant requirements.
Other relevant tasks:
- Contribute to technical studies and internal knowledge development related to ageing management and plant life management.
In this function you will report to — and work closely together with — the project or team lead.
You might be required to travel according to the arising needs (e.g. client on-site support, workshops, technical meetings).
Profile
- You have an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Process Engineering or a similar technical discipline. Nuclear engineering background is an asset;
- You have 2–5 years of experience in the nuclear field, preferably related to maintenance, inspection, system engineering, reliability or ageing management. Experience in other integrity-driven industries (e.g. oil & gas, petrochemical, conventional power) is also valued;
- You have a basic understanding of degradation mechanisms (corrosion, fatigue, wear, thermal ageing, etc.) and maintenance and inspection practices;
- You are comfortable working with technical plant documentation (P&IDs, system descriptions, maintenance and inspection records);
- In approaching technical work, you prefer a structured, pragmatic and results-oriented approach;
- You like to take responsibility and are accountable for your work;
- You have good communication and teamwork skills;
- You are proactive and self-supporting;
- You have good fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Dutch or willingness to learn is an asset;
- You are culturally aware and able to work in multidisciplinary and international environments;
- You are motivated to deliver quality work, on time and within scope;
- You are driven to develop your expertise in nuclear ageing management and long-term operation.
Team
The AM|LTO team assists our partners in the nuclear industry in the many challenges arising from an ageing fleet, the necessity of reliable operations beyond initial design life and an ever evolving set of regulatory requirements.
The AM|LTO team was created in 2021 on the basis of successes achieved during Long Term Operations related projects as LTO-1 Borssele (NL), LTO Ringhals (SWE), LTO HFR (NL) and LTO Atucha I (ARG). The activities are branded as TULIP LTO, to promote our international recognition.
Our goal is to develop the team and promote a structural growth in order to become a major independent actor in the global nuclear industry. In order achieve our goal, we are looking for a specialist in ageing management with strong project management skills.
Terms of employment
- 27 holidays and 12 additional days;
- 8.3% year-end bonus and 8% holiday allowance;
- Pension with ABP; NRG PALLAS pays 70% of the premium;
- Commuting expenses are reimbursed at €0.23 per k/m up to a maximum of 50 km one way. Public transport is reimbursed 100%;
